Library news for week of Aug 27, 2012

Curious about the progress on the plans for the proposed new library? Come to the library’s Building Project Open House on Wednesday, September 5th from 1:00 to 2:30 on the main floor of the library. Meet the architect Ron Lamarre, look at the most recent drawings and talk with him about the proposed design. The new library will be for everyone in Epping, so everyone is invited to be a part of the process! Light refreshments will be served. The next Building Committee meeting open to the public will be Tuesday, September 18th at 7 pm in the Town Hall.

 

The Eclectic Book Club meets next on Wednesday, September 12th at 7 pm to discuss The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer. The Dusty Old Mystery Club will meet at 7 pm on Wednesday,September 19th to discuss Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith. Copies of both books are available at the main circulation desk for anyone interested in joining either of these book discussion groups.

 

Children who participated in this summer’s reading program will have one more opportunity to “Dream Big, Read!” at the SRP Wrap Up Party on Friday, September 14th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. A scavenger hunt with crafts will remind everyone of the different themes that were explored during the summer, and awards will be presented to top readers in each age group and the SRP Volunteers as the marshmallow roast begins outside (weather permitting). Bring a snack to share to this library family event.

 

Epping’s public library is open Monday – Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday 10 to 2. The library will be closed on Monday, September 4th for Labor Day. For more information call 679-5944, or visit www.eppinglibrary.com.
