Epping Library News for the week of October 1, 2012

The Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library has a new phone number! As of September 26th, the number for the main library (upstairs) is 734-4587. The old number, 679-5944, will still reach the library, but will connect directly to the Children’s Department (downstairs). The staff appreciates your patience as we work out the kinks of our new phone system.

On Thursday, October 4th join Gary Brandt and Jackie Davidson for an evening of singing the good old songs again. This groovy evening will begin at 7:00 pm and include many classic folk songs from the sixties. Toe tappers and sing-along-ers are welcome and encouraged to attend.

With Halloween right around the corner, kids of all sizes are seeking the perfect costume. For those who would rather borrow than buy, Miss Tracie’s Costume Closet will open on October 9th for library patrons in good standing to borrow costumes for the Halloween “season”. There are dozens of costumes from toddler sized Elmo and preschool sized Buzz to size 6 Ariel and size 10 Aurora. Come by anytime the library is open.

Friday, October 12th sees the return of PJ Movie Night to the children’s room. Beginning at 6:30 this month’s movie is the third in a series of rated G adventures from Disney about a group of chihuahuas in Hollywood. Popcorn will be provided by the Friends of the Library. Patrons are asked to bring a snack to share and a spill-resistant drink. All children must be accompanied by a responsible big person.

Epping’s public library is open Monday – Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday 10 to 2. The library will be closed on Monday, October 8th in observance of Columbus Day. For more information call 679-5944, or visitwww.eppinglibrary.com.
