Epping Library News for the week of March 11th

Introducing a new movie series at The Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library: Monday Munch and Movie. Starting this month, adults are invited to see movies on the big screen for free on Mondays at 12:30. Bring a lunch and something to drink and settle into a movie downstairs while the kids are still in school. On March 18th the movie will be the 2012 adventure drama that won the Academy Award for Best Director about a 16-year old boy stranded on a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger. A Tennessee Williams classic will grace the screen on March 25th, featuring Anna Magnani who won the Academy Award in 1955 for her role in this film opposite Burt Lancaster. Dona Camara’s crafting workshop in March is scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd beginning at 2 pm. This month the group will be making folding photo books that will be best for small or cropped photos. Interested crafters are asked to preregister by calling the main desk. There will be a $7.00 fee to cover the cost of materials.

 

Later in March the library will host a program full of traditional fiddle music and New England history, Old Time Rules Will Prevail: the Fiddle Contest in New Hampshire and New England. On Thursday, March 28th at 7 pm Adam Boyce will play his fiddle and discuss the history of fiddle contests in the Granite State. This program is funded with a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council and is offered free to the public.
