Team concept will be key for Epping boys
After Monday’s Epping High School boys basketball practice, Steven Robert, Mike Fecteau and Dave Deschene all looked in Jimmy Riordon’s direction when asked about their team.
Riordon, known affectionately by his teammates as “Big Red,” took up the challenge.
“We have a good mix of players,” said Epping’s 6-foot-2 senior center. Riordon, who averaged 12 to 14 points per game last season, also noted that a couple of players who played in the past for them came back to play this season and that “we have a good chemistry coming into the season.”
“It’s magic,” said Robert, a senior guard, referring to the team’s chemistry, noting all of them have played together for a long time and there’s no problems between them.
Magic, too, was watching Chris Crowley speed down the court last season to the tune of 20 points per game.
But with Crowley’s departure due to graduation?
Deschene, a 6-foot-2 senior who led the team last year in rebounding, said there’s going to have to be more distribution of the ball this season.
