New England Dragway Night of Thrills July 11

COASTAL TRUCK AND AUTO BODY NIGHT OF THRILLS

EPPING, NH – Nothing gets the adrenaline pumping like nitro and New England Dragway gives race fans a full dose during the Coastal Truck and Auto Body Night of Thrills presented by the New England Dodge Dealers on Saturday, July 11. Some of the biggest names in the nitro business will unleash their fury in one of the season’s most anticipated shows. Headlining this year’s event is Lisa Coil piloting the “Drastic Plastic” fuel altered. Name sound familiar? It should. Lisa is the wife of legendary John Force crew chief Austin Coil. With the best players in the world of nitro to rely on there’s no doubt Lisa can get the job done. She’ll take on the legendary “Wonderwagon” formerly campaigned by top fuel and funny car ace Don Shumacher and currently driven by Joe Haas.

Top Fuel action returns in July when Bobby Lagana, Jr., rolls the family fueler into Epping and faces Todd Paton. Lagana calls New England Dragway one of his favorite tracks. The last time this second generation fuel pilot came to Epping he thundered down the quarter mile to eclipse the 300-mph mark with a blistering four-second charge. This year Lagana is out to reset the New England’s Top Fuel track record that currently stands at 4.580 seconds. Can he do it?

After a multi-year hiatus Nitro Harley’s are coming back to New England Dragway. Four of the nation’s best riders will aim their nitro-fueled beasts toward the top end and hold on for the ride.

The slate of competitors reads like a “who’s who” of Top Fuel Harley warriors. Ray Price will bring in ace rider Joe Sternotti and do battle with D. J. Johnson’s machine piloted by Tak Shigematsu from Japan, Dean Comunal and Bob Mallory.

Capping off a night to remember is K. C. Jones and the unbelievable battle of the Jet Trains along with the “King of Thunder”, Les Shockley in his triple-jet powered Peterbilt truck. Plus there’s a full slate of Pro Comp, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster and Pro Modified on tap. Gates open at 4 PM. Nitro ignites at 6 PM.
