Girls basketball: Epping looks to advance past quarterfinals
Meghan Fiore and Cory Buchanan, senior members of the Epping High School girls basketball team, say it’s a matter of getting back in sync,
However, Epping coach Tim Hopley feels his team is “still definitely trying to feel our way through” 10 practices into the preseason.
Megan Browning and Amanda Foster are the other two seniors, and Christa Johnson, a junior, and Taylor Fiore, a sophomore, the other returnees for the Blue Devils.
Epping opens its season tonight at Sanborn at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils were eliminated in last year’s Class M quarterfinals for the fourth straight season.
“Get back in sync, improve our skills, get more focused, and hopefully we’ll get past the quarterfinals this year,” Fiore said. “I think we have the confidence to get better.”
Hopley’s not worried about the competition his team will face this season, not in the big picture anyways. What he is concerned about is his team improving its skills, getting in better condition, and keeping a positive attitude all the time regardless of what happens.
