“It’s a daily process,” said Epping girls basketball coach Tim Hopley.

Monday night that daily process became a 40-32 victory over rival Newmarket.

The Blue Devils, who grabbed a 7-0 first-quarter lead, were led by Taylor Fiore (14 points) and Meghan Fiore (12 points and eight rebounds). Sam Arsenault added nine points for Epping. Emily Barbeau led Newmarket with 11 points.

Epping, a Class M school, improved to 3-2, while Newmarket, a Class S school, dropped to 1-2. Despite the difference in divisions the game counted for both schools.

It’s still early, but there are a number of concerns for Hopley. A couple of them were expected after losing a number of skilled players through graduation, and both of them have to do with offensive production.
