Standoff with SWAT team follows graduation party
A father was arrested early this morning after police said he fired a rifle several times during an armed standoff at his daughter’s high school graduation party.
Bruce Richards, 50, of 53 Jenness Road, faces several charges after the hour-long standoff that began just before 1 a.m. outside his residence.
Police were first called to the home for a report of shots being fired. At the same time, a 911 call was received reporting that Richards was threatening to shoot police if they came to his home.
