32nd annual Lamprey River Canoe Race Set for Saturday

The 32nd annual Lamprey River Canoe Race is scheduled to get under way Saturday morning at Mary Blair Park. The morning races (two-person canoe and solo kayak) follow a 7.3-mile course that begins at Mary Blair Park and finishes at the Route 87 bridge, starting at 9:30. The afternoon family races are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and follow a 3.7-mile course that begins at Mary Blair Park and finishes at Epping’s Town Hall.

Registration for the morning race opens at 8 a.m.; registration for the afternoon session begins at noon. Cost to register is $15 per person or $5 for those under the age of 15. The race is not suitable for all ages.

The race is run by the Epping Conservation Commission.
