Tractor Supply Co. plans Epping building
A Maine developer has proposed a new retail building on Route 125 that will include Tractor Supply Co.
H.L. Patten of Kittery plans to build 19,097 square feet of retail space for Tractor Supply Co. and a 20,070-square-foot fenced-in area for outdoor sales at the proposed retail building at 212 Route 125.
The building will also include 10,000 square feet for a second retailer. Howard Patten, owner of H.L. Patten, said he’s still negotiating with national retailers for that second retail store.
The proposal will go before the planning board Thursday.
Tractor Supply Co. is a national chain of retail stores specializing in products for farmers and homeowners. The retailer, which uses the slogan, “The stuff you need out here,” describes itself as one of the largest retail chains in the United States. Its customers include farmers and ranchers, hobby farmers, rural homeowners and contractors.
The store caters to home improvement and agricultural needs, but also sells other products such as feed, clothing, mowers, and lawn and garden and pet care items.
