Epping business owner Heather Toland, an Independent Consultant and National Vice President with Arbonne International, is helping the Epping High School Freshman Class in raising funds by facilitating a Fundraiser that will take place between now and March 31st. The goal is to raise anywhere from $500 to $1,000+ by having a minimum of six (6) people host Parties with a Purpose! You may choose to have either a Spa Party or a Living Well Party that would take place between now and March 31st. These Parties With a Purpose will enable family and friends of the respective Freshman to support the Fundraiser by choosing from products that are consumable, non-toxic and safe. Another great perk is this Fundraiser allows you to divert what you are already spending as many of the products every household has on their grocery list at some point during the month.

What do these Parties “look like?” They are informative as important skincare and health information is shared, they are interactive and they are fun! The hosts’ will be encouraged to have 6-8 guests which would consist of neighbors, friends, co-workers, family, etc. We want this to be a community effort verses just the parents of the freshman hosting or being present at these Parties. As a thank you to the host, they will receive free products, as well as 50-80% specials. This will help them receive their favorite products that they learned about without effecting the donation amount to the Class.

For those people that are familiar with the high quality of Arbonne’s products and have a large “shopping list,” hosting is a great option to get what they would like as well as help the Freshman Class!

Please contact Heather Toland directly with any questions or should you wish to book a Party to help the Freshman Class! Party with a Purpose-Freshman Class EHS

Press release for week of December 19, 2011

The Trustees of the Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library are forming a planning committee for the renovation and expansion of the library building. Interested adult Epping residents who can commit to this project for approximately three years should contact director Bradley Green at 679-5944 or harvmitch@gmail.com. The library needs help from those who know it best to grow into all the town needs it to be.

On Friday, December 23rd there will be a special showing of Tom Hanks’ animated Christmas movie about a magical train that travels to the north pole on Christmas Eve. Beginning at 1:00 in the children’s room this might be a good diversion for the kids who are out of school and eagerly awaiting the 25th. The following week, Tuesday – Friday, will feature the library’s vacation movie series, showing a different movie for kids each afternoon at 1:00. The Thursday afternoon Storyhour will be canceled that week. Call, stop by the library or check our website for the movie schedule.

Epping’s public library is open Monday – Friday from 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday 10 to 2. The library will be closed on Monday, December 26th and Monday, January 2nd. Seasons greetings to all! For more information call 679-5944, or visit www.eppinglibrary.com.

The holiday season has arrived and the Friends of the Harvey Mitchell Memorial Library in Epping are holding a raffle in to raise money for the many incidentals they provide to the library and its patrons. In place of their usual silent auction, the F.O.L. will raffle themed gift baskets and several local restaurant gift certificates between now and December 16th. In addition to the Starbucks basket and the Book-themed basket in the raffle, a NH-Themed basket will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Patrons use their library card number to place bids. Raffle tickets are available at the main desk, not far from the basket display, for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Winners will be selected at 7 pm on Friday, December 16th.

Interested in what the Friends do? They are now meeting on the 2nd Tuesday each month to discuss ways to support and enhance the programs offered by the library, including providing pizza and popcorn for movie nights, funding for special programs and much more! This small but enthusiastic group is always open to new members who love the library and want to find a way to give back. Their next meeting is Tuesday, December 13th at 7 pm.

The Magic of Christmas Pajama Night returns to the library Friday, December 9th. Beginning at 6:30 children ages 2-8 and their families are invited to wear their comfiest and most festive pajamas for North Pole-inspired crafts, a library-wide scavenger hunt and songs and stories celebrating the magic of the season. Please bring a snack to share to insure that there will be enough goodies for all. The library will provide egg nog, hot (but not too hot) cocoa, and plenty of good cheer.

ENVIROVANTAGE RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE IN CONSTRUCTION BY ASSOCIATED BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS OF MASSACHUSETTS

EnviroVantage, an Epping, NH-based environmental and specialty services contractor, is the recipient of a second place Excellence in Construction Award from the Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).

EnviroVantage’s award in the annual statewide competition is in the “Commercial/Institutional/Industrial under $1 million” category for its work on the T.J. McIntyre Federal Office Building in Portsmouth. EnviroVantage is one of only 16 contractors selected as recipients of ABC’s 2011 Excellence in Construction Awards.

“EnviroVantage’s work represents the state-of-the-art in construction,” said Massachusetts ABC President Greg Beeman. “They should be justifiably proud of this achievement. Work of this caliber is helping to raise the standards of excellence throughout the construction industry.”

The company’s work on this project was supposed to last three weeks, but difficulties with site access turned that into six months. Competition judges noted security challenges that required the contractor to maintain the same employee team for the duration of the job.

Project owner Schroeder Construction Management was recognized along with EnviroVantage as part of the project team.

The award winners were determined by an independent panel of expert judges based on execution of design, craftsmanship, attention to detail, safety and other considerations. The judges were: Daniel Carson, Daniel Carson Consulting Engineering, Charles Sacre, Kleinfelder/SEA Consultants, Paul Tyrell, STV Incorporated, Jim Flanagan, FlanaConsulting.

Associated Builders and Contractors is the largest construction trade association in Massachusetts, representing more than 400 construction and construction-related firms, including developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and associates.
