Girls Roll Past Sanborn
January 15, 2008
The Epping High School girls basketball team dialed up Meghan Fiore’s number Wednesday night and the junior standout answered with 29 points in the Blue Devils’ 69-35 victory over Sanborn.
“She rebounds … she dribbles down the court left-handed … she sprints back on defense … she’s there to pick off a long pass … That’s the stuff we need,” said Epping coach Tim Hopley, referring to Fiore’s play. “We have to have that out of our top players.”
Epping also got 13 big points from Sarah Bolton and saw all 11 of its players score. Cory Buchanan tossed in six and Taylor Fiore and Moriah Mahala had four apiece as the Blue Devils improved to 6-1 in Class M.

Children’s Music Program Moves to Epping
January 15, 2008
Music Together of Exeter Has New Home
Music Together® of Exeter, an internationally recognized early childhood music program, still has space available at their new location at the Leddy Center in Epping.
The winter session of Music Together® classes started in Exeter the week of January 7 and in Epping the week of January 15. Free trial classes are planned in Epping.
Terry Taylor, director of the Exeter Music Together® program, was thrilled to find the wonderful new spaces in Epping and Exeter. The program’s former space on Epping Road in Exeter is for sale, which required the program to move.
“We are looking forward to another magical session of children and adults discovering the joy of making music together,” Taylor said.
Music Together® will also hold winter classes at the Leddy Center in Epping starting the week of January 15. Classes in Epping will be taught Tuesdays by Nancy Wight, who has taught the program for more than 10 years and is a Teacher Trainer for Music Together®, Princeton.
Those interested in learning more about the Music Together® program and classes are invited to try a free demonstration classes in Epping on January 15th at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m.. While the classes are free, registration is required due to a limit of 12 children per class.
Music Together® of Exeter just finished their third fall session and has touched countless children and parents with the joy of making music with each other. Music Together® classes are forty-five minutes long and include an artistically conceived flow of songs, nursery rhymes, instrumental jam sessions, finger plays, and movement activities. The combination and types of activities are research-based and support children in developing tonal and rhythm competence. In addition, activities evolve from the child’s world and include vocal play, rhythm play, animal sounds, and, of course fun. Music Together® is a national program that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It was founded by Kenneth K. Guilmartin, who envisioned children and the adults who love them making music together, much as in the days before the advent of television and recordings—singing, playing instruments, and moving together, regardless of musical background.

Seacoast United Forms Alumni Association
January 15, 2008
The Seacoast United Soccer Club is proud to announce the establishment of its Alumni Association.
Seacoast United began as a small soccer club in 1992 and has continued to grow immensely ever since. The success of the club has seen it grow to one of the largest and most well-known youth sports clubs in the region. Two teams have evolved into 60, and a handful of members have risen to over 5,000.
When the club was first founded, it had no place to call home; however, Seacoast United is now playing at two top-notch facilities that it can truly call home. In 2006, the club opened its outdoor complex in Epping to complement its indoor arena in Hampton, which opened in 1997. The outdoor facility features four state-of-the art Field Turf fields, three of which include lights. The complex is one of the premier outdoor athletic facilities in New England and will be the destination of many athletes for years to come.

Selectmen Cut $100K From Proposed 2008 Budget
January 15, 2008
At a recent meeting, selectmen acted on a request by the budget committee and cut $100,000 from the proposed 2008 budget.
“There is a 7.47 percent increase over last year in the budget as it is,” said Chairman Jeffrey Harris. “(The Budget Committee) had suggested we come in at a flat budget, which we obviously couldn’t do for many reasons.”
Harris said Budget Committee members asked for the $100,000 in cuts although there is a new position included in the budget at $60,000. The cuts shaved the proposed budget to $5,239, 589.

January 15, 2008
The owner of All-Star Speedway approached the Planning Board recently to announce his hopes to open a sports bar on the premises.
Robert MacArthur told the board he would like to use an abandoned building by turns one and two of the track for the bar. “I know there has been the issue with no alcohol at the speedways,” MacArthur told the board. “Will that come into effect if I open a new business there?”
Planning Board chairman Rob Graham said that question was beyond the purview of the Planning Board, and should be taken up with the Board of Selectmen.
