Citizens Discuss Downtown Revitalization

Speak Up, Epping’s Downtown Revitalization Committee met Wednesday night at Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library. The nine members discussed goals and objectives in relationship to the scope of the organization.
“It is very interesting that so many boards and groups in the town of Epping are all considering ways to improve the downtown, the Historical Commission, the selectmen, the zoning and planning boards,” said Jane Burley, the committee’s chairwoman.
Three goals identified for the Downtown Revitalization Committee are: promote safety, enhance the appearance of downtown area, and encourage economic vitality.

Football’s a kick for her

When his team clashed with Franklin High last Saturday in Division V football, Epping High head coach Rich McFadden was without the program’s high-profile place kicker.She was leading the Blue Devils girls’ soccer team to the near-upset of last year’s Class M state finalist.
It wasn’t Epping’s afternoon on the gridiron or pitch. The football team lost, 8-0. The soccer team dropped a 3-2 decision in double overtime to Raymond.

Epping Learns an Upsetting Lesson

With last week’s blowout victory against Farmington fresh in their minds, Epping High’s football team expected another easy win against hapless 0-3 Franklin.
But the Tornadoes had other plans and upset Epping, 8-0, on Saturday in a game that was dominated by defense until the fourth quarter.

Could Target Be Next for Epping?

Construction should begin next spring on a shopping plaza on a 49-acre site behind Burger King on Route 125 near Route 101.The 300,000-square-foot development would include two big-box stores and a 100-room hotel, project manager Erik Saari of Jones & Beach Engineers said yesterday
There has been speculation a Target is one of the retail stores, but Saari could not confirm that.

Big Day For Epping Schools

The Epping School board announced the opening of the Epping Middle School and Epping High School Gymnasium on September 23rd.
